El Paso County offices, including administrative, elected, and affiliated agencies, will be closed on January 1, 2024, for the New Year's holiday. This includes the El Paso County Department of Human Services and the Board of County Commissioners meetings will resume on January 9, 2024.

🐾 Farewell, Hero: K9 Phoenix Crosses the Rainbow Bridge

The Fountain Police Department bids farewell to K9 Phoenix, who served from 2018 to 2020 and played a vital role in community safety. The beloved retired police dog passed away on Dec. 31, leaving a lasting impact on those who worked with him.

🚨 Unthinkable Crime: Colorado Springs Mother Arrested Abroad

A Colorado Springs mother, Kimberlee Singler, 35, suspected of murdering her 9-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son, and attempting to kill her 11-year-old daughter, was arrested in the United Kingdom without incident on Saturday. The arrest follows an incident on Dec. 19, where Singler and her 11-year-old were found injured, and her two younger children deceased. Singler faces charges including multiple counts of first-degree murder, first-degree attempted murder, child abuse, and assault.
