πΎ From Crisis to Kisses: A Pawsitively Happy Tail
Karma, a dog rescued by Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR), faced a dire situation unable to eat or drink. X-rays showed a lodged lotion bottle in her stomach, leading to emergency surgery that saved her life. After extra care, Karma improved and found a loving home, highlighting HSPPR's success. Supported by the Pet Overpopulation Fund, they provide essential medical aid to pets.

In El Paso County, the SOCO Wildland Fire Team recently conducted its annual field training day near Cheyenne Mountain, signaling a significant increase in certified wildland firefighters. SOCO, a collaborative effort among multiple fire departments in the southern part of the county, aims to swiftly augment firefighting resources in case of wildfires. Over the initial weekends of February, numerous volunteers underwent rigorous classroom training. Their culmination occurred where they received hands-on experience and underwent skills testing to bolster emergency response readiness.

Carie Hallford, co-owner of the funeral home where almost 200 bodies were discovered, failed to appear for a mandatory sobriety monitoring, prompting a court appearance next week. Families involved in the Return to Nature Funeral Home investigation were notified of this development by the 4th Judicial DAβs Office. Hallford's release terms, which included GPS monitoring and regular check-ins, were violated by missing the sobriety monitoring.
