🔥 Controlled Burns at Fort Carson Begin

Fort Carson schedules prescribed burnings now to mid-April to reduce wildland fire risk. Smoke may be visible along several corridors, including Interstate 25 and Hwy 115 from Colorado Springs to Pueblo, and Hwy 350 in Las Animas County, during this period. Fort Carson emphasizes its commitment to environmental preservation and community well-being, inviting concerned individuals to contact them by calling (719) 526-9849 for further information or assistance regarding the prescribed burn program.

💰 State Grants Aid 12 Local COS Businesses

Twelve small businesses in Colorado Springs, along with their nonprofit fiscal sponsors, are set to benefit from $372,000 in grants and technical assistance provided by the Community Business Preservation Program (CBPP) of the Office of Economic Development & International Trade (OEDIT). These grants aim to address economic challenges and enhance business operations for culturally significant establishments facing financial pressures. The selected businesses, supported by organizations like The Thrive Networks and Downtown Ventures, will utilize the funds for equipment upgrades, property improvements, and relocation costs, among other purposes. Mayor Mobolade endorsed the sponsoring entities, emphasizing their commitment to fostering resilient business communities.

💦 CSU Reports: 3-Year Water Reserve!

Colorado Springs Utilities (CSU) and the Stormwater division have announced a substantial increase in the city's water supply following recent storms and snowfall. CSU's water supply watch indicates enough water to sustain the city for approximately 3 years.
