Bijou Billiards

🤝 Discover the Joy: More Than a Game, It's a Gathering

Craving a local spot where leisure meets warmth? Bijou Billiards is your answer in Colorado Springs. With the charm of a family-run business and the allure of a social hub, it's where owner Cindy Lopez, her granddaughter Alise, and their community come together over the love of pool.

Cindy’s journey tells a tale of passion reignited. Once an engineer, now channels her precision into every shot on the billiard tables she's loved since her youth. Mentor Ray's lessons from her teenage years weren't just about pool; they were life lessons that kept her on the right path.

Cindy transformed a treasured property into a welcoming retreat founded on respect and kinship. Here, the outside world's drama dims, newcomers feel at home, and regulars savor lively matches and Cindy's signature homemade green chili. Boasting six tournament Predator tables, Bijou Billiards offers more than just a game—it's a blend of savory pool hall fare, friendly faces, and the enduring joy of play.

It's a gathering place where date nights and team bonds flourish, where the click of billiard balls form new friendships. This venue celebrates Cindy's dream—a community treasure that cherishes every visitor.

Step into Bijou Billiards at 2510 E Bijou Street. Whether you're aiming to break and run or just break away from the everyday, swing by, call 719-577-2510 or check out their website or Facebook page. Hours: Tue–Thu 3 PM to Midnight & Fri–Sat Noon to Midnight.

Every visit is a chance to be part of Cindy's vision—where everyone is family, and every game is a celebration.

🙌 Mention Colorado Springs Town Tidings when you visit Bijou Billiards and let Cindy's generosity pour you a one-time, FREE domestic draft, well drink, or soft drink! 🍺

🐻 Bears Awaken: Time to Secure Trash

Bears in trash

As temperatures rise in Colorado Springs, bears are awakening from hibernation, prompting concerns about potential conflicts with humans. Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials report a decline in bear sightings and conflicts in 2023 compared to previous years, residents are urged to remain vigilant.

Although a good idea for everyone, the city mandates the use of bear-proof trash cans for areas within the city limits west of I-25 or keeping trash in secure locations until collection day to prevent bear attractants. Violators could face fines, highlighting the seriousness of bear management efforts.

🏛️ State of the Community Talks TODAY

At Large Councilmembers David Leinweber and Brian Risley invite residents to attend a series of community presentations focusing on the State of the Community in Colorado Springs. These meetings will delve into crucial areas such as Public Safety, Economic Vitality, Affordability, and Quality of Life. The aim is to foster public engagement and shape the city's future collaboratively.

The first meeting is TODAY, Wednesday, April 3rd at Red Leg Brewing Company, followed by the final session on Thursday, April 11th at Trainwreck Colorado. Both events run from 5:30pm to 7:00pm and are open to all members of the public. No purchase is necessary to attend, but minors must be accompanied by an adult.

🚒 Colorado Springs: Fire Mitigation Funding

Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) has received over half a million dollars from the state's Forest Restoration and Wildfire Risk Mitigation (FRWRM) grant program. This funding, part of a larger $7.2 million allocation, aims to enhance wildfire mitigation efforts across the state.

In Colorado Springs, the grant will support public land projects, including investment in specialized equipment like a masticator for vegetation removal. Additionally, funds are earmarked for mitigating nearly 80 acres in the Blodgett Open Space. These grants complement existing initiatives aimed at assisting homeowners with private property mitigation efforts, emphasizing the ongoing nature of wildfire prevention and mitigation.
