🎖️ Fort Carson's Tribute to D-Day Heroes
Fort Carson Army Post and the 4th Infantry Division are set to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day with a ceremony at Manhart Field today, June 6 at 11 am. The event, open to all, will honor the contributions and sacrifices of WWII soldiers, particularly those of the 4th Infantry Division, who played a crucial role in the Allied invasion, the liberation of Paris, and the Battle of the Bulge. The ceremony will include re-enlistments and demonstrations of modern-day military maneuvers.
🎶 Ford Secures Naming Rights for Venue
The new outdoor music venue in Colorado Springs, now named Ford Amphitheater, will open in August 2024 following a ten-year naming rights agreement between Venu Holding Corporation and Colorado Ford Dealers. The amphitheater, boasting an 8,000 capacity and luxurious amenities, will host performances by top artists such as OneRepublic and the Beach Boys. Managed by Venu and AEG Presents, the venue aims to become a major hub for entertainment in our region.

Colorado Springs Utilities has initiated the demolition of the Drake Power Plant and its connecting structure. To minimize environmental impact, the main building will be taken down in sections throughout the month. The demolition of auxiliary buildings is also in progress. CSU anticipates the entire project to be completed on time by the end of the year, signifying a notable step in the city's infrastructure evolution.
