🤗 A Family Affair: Where Passion Meets Pottery
Looking for a unique way to unwind, unleash your artistic side, and make lasting memories with loved ones? Paint & Fire Pottery offers an inviting place where you can paint your own ceramic piece, regardless of your experience. Owner, Brenda Apland, whose warm smile and enthusiasm for nurturing others' creative spirit have made this studio a beloved destination for locals and visitors alike.
Behind the scenes, Brenda's family plays a crucial role in the studio's success. Her sister, Diane, a dedicated NICU respiratory nurse, is a co-owner and silent partner, while Brenda and their father, Paul, skillfully craft the bisque (term for ceramic pieces before they're fully glazed) at an offsite location. This close-knit family dynamic is the heart and soul of Paint & Fire Pottery, and you can feel it as you walk in.
Committed to providing a friendly, affordable, and stress-free experience with no studio or sitting fees, you can take your time and enjoy the therapeutic process of painting. The studio's extensive collection, made from their impressive 25,000 molds and vast array of paint colors, ensures that there’s always something new and exciting to work on.
Under Brenda's guidance, you'll find the inspiration to bring your artistic vision to life, whether a personalized gift, decorating your home, or simply enjoying quality time with friends and family. The tranquil ambiance fosters connection and inspiration, providing a much-needed escape from the daily grind.

🎈🏛️ Juneteenth Closures in Colorado Springs
Colorado Springs and Fort Carson are observing Juneteenth with significant closures and adjustments. Fort Carson will close gates 4, 6, and 19, with many personnel having the day off. The city of Colorado Springs has announced that numerous offices, including City Hall and the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum, will be closed. Community centers and various parks and recreational services will also be shut down. Juneteenth, which commemorates the end of slavery in the United States, is now a recognized state holiday in Colorado.
🚗 Springs' Past Revealed in Junkyard Discovery
A 1965 Plymouth Fury III was discovered in a Colorado Springs junkyard, offering a window into the city's past. Originally sold by a local dealership, the car carries symbols of its life in the Springs, including a parking pass for Pikes Peak State College and a sticker from the once-popular KYSN radio station. Additionally, a bumper sticker from Ronald Reagan’s 1976 campaign highlights its connection to national political history. Despite its current dilapidated state, the Fury's robust build and historical significance provide a tangible link to Colorado Springs' mid-20th-century heritage and the broader American narrative.
📋 Have Your Say: E-Bike Rules Survey Now Open
Colorado Springs is seeking public input through an online survey to develop regulations for e-bike usage on city parks and trails. The survey, available until Aug 1, aims to gather opinions on where e-bikes should be permitted.
