🦌 Mystery of the Lone Fawn: What You Need to Know
Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) is advising residents of Colorado Springs to avoid touching or attempting to rescue fawns that appear to be alone. As temperatures rise, fawns are more visible in urban areas, but they are usually not in distress. Their mothers are often nearby or foraging for food, and fawns use their natural camouflage and lack of scent to remain safe from predators. Human interference can disrupt this natural protection, potentially leading to unintended harm. Residents concerned about the well-being of a fawn should contact CPW at 303-297-1192 for guidance, rather than intervening themselves.
This is a fawn in #ColoradoSprings.
It looks alone.
You may think it's abandoned.
Maybe you're tempted to pick it up and bring it to your @COParksWildlife office.
Slap yourself in the face!
Repeat until you lose the urge.
It is not an orphan.
#LeaveYoungWildlifeAlone.

🐶 Dog Pool Party with Music and Treats
A new dock diving pool specifically for dogs has opened in Colorado Springs at Under the Sun Dog Training and Daycare. The facility will host a grand opening FREE event called “Poochella” this Sat, June 22, 10am to 2pm, welcoming the community and their canine companions to join in the celebration. The event will feature live music and a variety of food trucks. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the day. The facility is located at 6540 Vincent Drive, near I-25.
🕵️♂️ Know This Man? Flag Honoring Vet Stolen Twice
"The Property Group" in downtown Colorado Springs, has endured the theft of its American flag twice within a week. Security cameras captured an individual taking the flag from outside the business in broad daylight. The flag is flown in memory of the owner’s grandfather, a WWII veteran, making the theft particularly personal. The owner, Justin Hermes, has chosen not to file a police report, instead hoping the thefts will cease. He has ordered extra flags to ensure his tribute remains uninterrupted. Full Story
🥒 Zucchini Roll Ups
These zucchini roll ups are a fun low carb play on the classic lasagna dish. Each zucchini sliced is stuffed with a ricotta beef filling then topped with tomato sauce and melty mozzarella for a cheesy weeknight bite.
