๐จ Gannon Stauch's Legacy Lives On Through Heartwarming Downtown Mural
A mural dedicated to Gannon Stauch, a young boy tragically killed in 2020 by his stepmother, Leticia Stauch, was unveiled in downtown Colorado Springs. Leticia Stauch was found guilty of the murder earlier this year and sentenced to life in prison.
The mural, graced with colors of blue, yellow, and orange, aims to honor Gannon's memory, portraying him as a happy child. The artwork's unveiling gathered community members, including law enforcement who worked closely with the family over the years. Gannon's mother, Landen Bullard, was actively involved in the mural's creation and described it as a representation of love. You can view the mural at 12 East Pikes Peak Avenue.
๐๏ธ Solid Rock Community Unites: A Bright Future with 77 Affordable Housing Units
Solid Rock Christian Church in Colorado Springs is actively addressing the city's affordable housing challenge by constructing the Village At Solid Rock, a 77-unit apartment complex. The church organized a successful fundraiser gala, emphasizing the importance of providing suitable living spaces for local essential workers and middle-class families. The complex will feature one, two, and three-bedroom units, catering to various needs.
Construction commenced in June 2022, with plans to welcome residents by February 2024. Solid Rock Christian Church is also envisioning additional units in the coming years, aiming to further contribute to the city's housing solutions.
๐ง Traffic Shift on South Academy Blvd: What You Need to Know!
Traffic changes are here on South Academy Boulevard in Colorado Springs. Started Sunday night, November 5, southbound traffic will be shifted into a new alignment, affecting the stretch between Platte Avenue and Airport Road. The changes are part of ongoing construction work, necessitating caution and potential delays for commuters.
Additionally, access at Pikes Peak Avenue will be reopened on the west side of South Academy Boulevard, but closure will continue east of South Academy Boulevard throughout November due to ongoing water main work.
๐จ Shots Fired: CSPD Apprehend Suspect After Apartment Incident!
Colorado Springs Police apprehended a 21-year-old man after he discharged shots within an apartment complex near Dublin Boulevard. The incident, reported just before midnight on Saturday, involved an intoxicated man with a handgun. Police successfully arrested Elijah Baker, although another intoxicated individual with a firearm remained uncontactable.
