😩 Sore Again? Meet Carolyn πŸ‘

πŸ’†β€β™€οΈ After 30 years, she knows exactly why (and how to fix it)

Do you ever wake up already bracing for it? The stiff neck that will not turn all the way, the low back that groans before your feet even touch the floor, the shoulder knot that quietly moved in months ago and refuses to leave.

We tell ourselves it is just part of a busy life, part of getting older, part of sitting too long or sleeping wrong. So we book a lovely spa massage, float for a blissful afternoon, and by morning the ache has settled right back in like it never left.

Carolyn Durham has spent nearly 30 years making sure you do not have to live that way.

Back in 1995, Carolyn was raising three young kids and looking for work that would let her stay close to home. A friend invited her to a massage school info session on a whim. She had no medical background and no real plan, but she went anyway. She watched the instructors light up as they talked about actually getting people out of pain, and something in her clicked. She enrolled right away.

The school only taught one thing at the time: neuromuscular therapy. So from her very first day of training, Carolyn was learning a clinical, root-cause approach, never spa fluff. That foundation became her life's work.

Today, Carolyn leads a team of 14 certified Neuromuscular Massage therapists at Advanced Neuromuscular Therapeutics on West Bijou. Their work reaches past surface tension.

They release the exact points where muscles and tendons anchor to the bone (the hidden spots that keep pulling you back into pain), then layer in trigger point work, myofascial release (gently freeing the connective tissue wrapping every muscle), Swedish techniques, and targeted stretches so relief actually lasts.

And here is something almost no other massage practice in Colorado Springs can say: they take insurance. Cigna, VA coverage, Workers' Comp, major local employer plans (including City of Colorado Springs and Young Life), plus HSA and FSA cards are all welcome. Real, hands-on wellness care that is finally within reach, not just a luxury you save up for.

Office manager Karissa personally listens to what your body is going through and pairs you with the therapist who fits you best. No online booking bots. Just real people who care about getting you out of pain.

🎁 A Personal Gift for Town Tidings Readers

I asked Carolyn for something truly special, just for you, and she said yes.

You will not find this offer on their website, and it is not available to the public. It is a personal invitation from Carolyn to my readers, because once you feel what real root-cause bodywork does, you will understand why her clients keep coming back.

To claim your 50% reader gift, call or text Karissa at (719) 229-9235 and mention this article. That's it...it's that easy!

πŸ’ͺ Could YOU Be One of 250 Rosie’s?

Here's a pretty special way to be part of this year's Veterans Day celebration. In honor of America's 250th anniversary, the In Their Honor Veterans Day Parade is looking for 250 women to dress as Rosie the Riveter and help lead the parade through downtown Colorado Springs.

Rosie has been named this year's Grand Marshal, honoring the women who stepped up during World War II to keep factories running and the military supplied. If you'd like to join in, grab a red-and-white polka dot bandana and blue-collar work clothes and be ready to walk the roughly three-quarter-mile route.

The parade starts Saturday, Nov. 7 at 11am along Tejon. So if channeling a little "We Can Do It!" spirit sounds like your kind of Veterans Day tribute, this could be a memorable way to say thank you to those who served. Sign Up Here!

🧳 Your Mini Vacation Awaits

Trade the daily grind for the crisp, alpine peaks of Breckenridge or the sunset-soaked charm of Santa Fe. Grab your spot before it’s gone!

πŸ₯Ύ What $1.6M Did for Fox Run

If you have been looking for a reason to get outside, Fox Run Regional Park just gave you a good one. After nearly a year of renovations that wrapped up last week, the park is fully open again, and the transformation is worth the trip to the Northside.

The centerpiece is a brand-new 780-square-foot pavilion, replacing a much smaller 330-square-foot gazebo that used to sit there. The pond got a complete refresh with dredging and new liners to restore the water. They also added new ADA-accessible parking, improved lighting, updated trails, and a refreshed restroom exterior. The whole project came in just under $1.6 million.

Whether you're planning a nature walk, a kids' outing, or even looking for the perfect spot for an outdoor event or wedding, Fox Run is ready for you. Go see what they did. Full Story
