When she showed up to the Rocky Mountain Youth Leadership Conference, she looked at the itinerary and her stomach instantly dropped. The first rule of the week? No phones allowed.
She had to hand her phone over to a staff member, shake their hand, and promise to disconnect for an entire week. Then she was put into a group of complete strangers from all over Colorado and given just three days to solve a massive real-world issue.

Francesca is one of just 100 students in the state selected for the Rocky Mountain Youth Leadership Conference. It's one of those rare programs that pushes young people in ways that are hard to describe until you've seen it happen.

🏞 Memorial Park Is Getting a Reset

Concerns about Memorial Park downtown? The city has already invested in better lighting, security gates, and wireless cameras to keep it safe for everyone who loves going there. And starting this Sunday, they're adding one more thing.
Vehicle gates will now close at 7 pm on Sundays instead of 9. The change is specifically trying to deter illegal parking lot takeovers and street racing that have caused real damage to the park. However, pedestrians and cyclists can still use the park after 7. The earlier closure is Sundays only.
It's a practical move from a city that clearly wants Memorial Park to stay the green space it's meant to be. If you're planning to drive there on a Sunday evening, just plan to wrap up before 7.

💔 He Knew Exactly What the X-Ray Meant

Dr. Ross Camidge has spent his career as one of the world's leading lung cancer experts at UCHealth, helping thousands of patients navigate the scariest diagnosis of their lives. In 2022, he pulled up his own chest X-ray and knew immediately what he was looking at.
He had advanced non-smoking lung cancer. The rare, aggressive type he had spent decades researching.
What happened next is one of those stories that quietly rearranges how you think about the people who take care of us. He kept seeing patients. He mentored younger doctors. One of those doctors, a man Dr. Camidge had personally trained, is now his oncologist. And rather than stepping back from the field, he stepped deeper into it, using his own experience to push for better, more honest reporting of cancer treatment side effects.
It's a story about irony, vulnerability, and what it looks like when someone who has given everything to a cause becomes a living example of why it matters.
