🚨 Turkey Day Robbery: CSPD Acts, Arrests Perp

On Thanksgiving Day, a business in the 300 block of Mount View Lane, near North Nevada Avenue, fell victim to an armed robbery, prompting a rapid response from the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD). The suspect, later identified as 20-year-old Thaddeus Reyna, entered the establishment wielding a firearm and fled with stolen merchandise. The CSPD, acting promptly, managed to apprehend Reyna without incident during the ensuing investigation.

🚔 Tragic Toll: Arrest in Puppy-Kitten Cruelty Case

A Colorado Springs resident, arrested by city police, is accused of locking eight puppies and two kittens in a vehicle, resulting in their deaths. The suspect, unnamed by law enforcement, faces charges including aggravated animal cruelty. The incident occurred on August 15, leading to a months-long investigation by the 4th Judicial District Attorney's office.

During the arrest on November 22, officers discovered a malnourished dog in the same vehicle as the deceased animals and observed several malnourished dogs in the backyard. Among other charges, the Humane Society cited the owner of the residence with having too many animals at the residence, licensing and rabies requirements, and three counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty.

📵 Voice Scam Alert: Just Say No!

This is a reminder for an ongoing scam which involves receiving calls from unfamiliar numbers, prompting individuals to confirm their identity or acknowledge they can hear the caller. Responding with a "yes" may expose individuals to potential scams, where scammers record the affirmative response to validate unauthorized purchases.

While many people are adept at ignoring spam calls, it's crucial to inform older relatives about this specific scam tactic to prevent them from falling victim to such fraudulent activities.
