βLook at history, everytime there is a war, they ban and burn books, as if that stops people from learning. Ban guns not books. Our library's are a nation's greatest resource, support our library's. β

βThese right-wing nut jobs need to tend to their own knitting, as my mother used to say! If you want to "guard" your own children against literary masterpieces, you are free to do so. But don't you dare tell me what MY kids can and can't read!β
app****@icloud Selected Firmly Oppose! π« and wrote
βDo not take away choice. If you donβt want to read a book or have your child read a book, fine. Your choice. I want an education, so I will read it and discuss it. β

βYou learn by reading about things you donβt agree with or donβt know about. Itβs the parentβs job, not libraries, to talk to their children about what they do or donβt want them to read and WHY. Banning books violates free speech of those who want to read the books others donβt like. Itβs a violation of the first amendment.β

βNo books should be banned. All books are important. It is a parent's job (not conservative zealots) to determine what youth should have access to. As adults, we have choice of what we want to read. Someone may have healed themselves through writing their story. I may not relate to their struggle, but others might. No person or groups should be allowed to ban any book. You don't like it, don't read it!!!!!β
