The Return to Nature Funeral Home in Penrose, tainted by biohazards and structural concerns, will be torn down in January 2024, as determined by the EPA. Families of the deceased, relieved by the decision, express hopes for a memorial to honor the 190 victims on the site, turning it into a comforting park.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Losses Amid Ashes: Downtown Fire Hits Businesses Hard

A fire at Bijou and Cascade in downtown Colorado Springs Monday, has resulted in the closure of several businesses, with more than half of the city's firefighters responding to the incident. While the official cause is yet to be determined, signs point to the area near the Taste of Jerusalem Cafe as the origin. Cafe owner Nasser Abdul fears a total loss. Local residents, like

Mayor Yemi Mobolade, acknowledging the devastation during the holiday season, talks with affected business owners. The Taste of Jerusalem Cafe, serving the community for over 15 years, faces significant damage. โ›” Traffic Troubles: Circle Drive's Construction in Full Swing

A $40 million, two-year bridge construction project has commenced on Circle Drive in south Colorado Springs. The initiative aims to replace four aging bridges, starting with the eastbound ones. The project includes wider sidewalks and affects Pikes Peak Greenway trail users, with a detour in place.

Some concerns have been raised by residents, particularly in a nearby mobile home park, but overall, the project is seen as enhancing city infrastructure and safety.

The endeavor focuses on replacing four existing bridges dating back to 1963, spanning Fountain Creek, Hancock Expressway, Las Vegas Street, two railroad tracks, and a major utility line. The phased project begins with constructing two new eastbound bridges, followed by the demolition of the existing ones.

๐Ÿค” Have You Heard of Dysthymia? Navigating Prolonged Low Moods

Dysthymia, a form of persistent depressive disorder (PDD), is a chronic, subtle sadness affecting 2% of adults.

If you've ever felt persistently unmotivated, empty, or lacking interest, you might relate. It's not just a mood; it's a condition. If these feelings linger for at least two years, it might be Dysthymia.

Why does it matter? Recognizing it means understanding that help is availableโ€”therapy, possible supplementation and medication can offer some relief.

If you resonate with this, seek support. Start with your General Practitioner to get the conversation started. You can reference the info you learned here. If you are more of a naturalist, then go to your naturopath. Just remember, you're not alone; there's hope.
