๐พ Love Beyond Loss: Fox Run's Pet Tree Bonds Community
In northern Colorado Springs, the Fox Run Dog Park is nestled inside the Fox Run Regional Park, where the Pet Memorial Tree stands as a heartfelt tribute to departed pets. Initiated by Gary Zoeller who hung a Christmas stocking in memory of his beloved golden retriever Daisy in 2007, the tradition has flourished into a community ritual. Adorned with community-contributed ornaments and portraits, the tree. Now it is lovingly tended by Lorna and Jeff Goebel, as it becomes a haven of solace each holiday season. More than a tradition, it embodies the enduring love and companionship that pets bring into our lives, offering comfort and connection to those who have experienced the poignant loss of a cherished companion. You can find the park at 2110 Stella Dr, COS.
๐ Colorado Springs Unites: Beyond Israel, Rally Confronts Anti-Semitism
Yesterday, a diverse crowd gathered at Colorado Springs City Hall in a show of unity, to express solidarity with Israel and reinforce the city's reputation as a safe and supportive community. Manuel Weiss, one of the organizers, highlighted the support he has personally felt from his neighbors in Colorado Springs. The rally, which identified Hamas as a problem, sought hope amid trauma and historical tensions, symbolizing a call for unity during the Hanukkah season. In unity at City Hall, we affirm Colorado Springs' commitment to a secure, inclusive environmentโa testament to our enduring strength as a tolerant and respectful community.
โ๏ธ Snowstorm Landing: Southwest Flight's Minor Runway Slide
After the Friday night snowstorm, a Southwest Airlines flight experienced a minor skid beyond the Colorado Springs Airport runway upon landing. No injuries or damages were reported due to the skill of the pilots, and the aircraft was safely towed back to the gate. Passengers expressed gratitude for the pilots and ground crew. The incident led to a temporary closure of the runway, causing some flight delays.

๐ DUI Drama: Officer Saves Driver from Flames in Late-Night Rescue
A vigilant Colorado Springs police officer rescued an unconscious driver from a burning car on Chestnut, near Cucharras Street. The driver, Roberto Cabrera, was later arrested for DUI. The vehicle, handed back to its owner, is part of an ongoing fire investigation.
๐จ Warning: Car Break-Ins Surge in Northgate, Police Seek Public Help
Residents in Colorado Springs' Northgate area, particularly in the Farm neighborhood, have become the targets of a series of car break-ins where thieves are stealing garage door openers.
Three suspects, captured on camera on both Wednesday and Saturday, are reportedly driving a silver mini-van and a black sedan. Some residents express their concerns about safety, emphasizing the need for heightened security measures such as locking doors and keeping lights on. Police urge residents to stay vigilant and report any information on the theft suspects.
๐ง Listen Up! Day 1 Kindness Secrets
Embark on a week-long journey to boost your kindness factor and self-improvement that will foster an overall healthier life for yourself and those around you.
Unleash the Power of Listening
In the whirlwind of holiday preparations and the hustle of daily life, it's easy to overlook the simple yet transformative act of kindness.
Today, focus on listening better. In the midst of your own thoughts and to-do lists, take a moment to truly engage with those around you. This means put the phone down, look at those talking to you and truly give them your full attention (if in a safe environment at the time. If youโre driving wait until you get to your destination.) ๐
By giving others the gift of your attention, you not only show politeness but also open the door to a world of reciprocal kindness not only for yourself but for those you both interact with after that. It is a cumulative effect!
