📚 Sewage Woes: Sand Creek Library Shuts Doors for Upgrades

Sewage system repairs at Academy Plaza, Colorado Springs, have led to the temporary closure of Sand Creek Library, expected through mid January.

The closure aims to address plumbing issues that have intermittently disrupted services throughout 2023. Patrons can collect holds from Ruth Holley Library and manage accounts online. This issue necessitates the rescheduling of select December 2023 and January 2024 programs. Updates can be found on the PPLD’s event calendar at ppld.org for the new dates and times

Nearby businesses may also face temporary closures due to the sewage system repair project.

🚧 Centennial Intersection Shut Amid Water Break

A water main break during Monday morning rush hour has led to the closure of a crucial intersection in west Colorado Springs at Centennial and 30th. Crews arrived promptly, and the water had been turned off, with repair equipment on-site.

According to CSPD’s X feed they state that drivers are advised to use alternative routes for now. Northbound Centennial can be accessed by taking Flying W Ranch Rd north to Chuckwagon Rd and then east on Chuckwagon Rd to Centennial Bl.

30th and Centennial will be closed until further notice. Updates on repair duration are awaited from Colorado Springs Utilities.

⛽️ Holiday Relief: Colorado Springs Gas Prices on a Holiday Dip

Colorado Springs gas prices drop for the third consecutive month, aligning with the national trend. The current average stands at $2.66/g, offering relief for motorists during the holiday season.

💳 Gift Card Scammers Unleash Sneaky Trick

A scam alert has been issued concerning gift cards in local stores. Scammers are manipulating cards by swiping, uncovering the PIN code, cutting it, and discreetly placing them back on shelves. This allows THEM instant access to the card's value once YOU purchase. Essentially you will have paid for them to use that card/code making the one you bought useless to you or your recipient.

To avoid falling victim to this scam, scrutinize cards before buying, ensuring the PIN code remains covered and not scratched off.

 Rush Less, Care More!

In a world of haste, find out why slowing down with kindness is your secret weapon for a healthier, happier life.

Embrace the Art of Slowing Down

As the holiday stress builds up, it's crucial to remember that kindness can be as simple as slowing down. Rushing through life can make us inadvertently dismiss the feelings of those we encounter. Today, make a conscious effort to pace yourself. Whether at work or in your personal interactions, take a breath, be present, and let kindness guide your actions.
