Spotlight: ☕From Baristas to Business Owners: The Journey of Humble Coffee
Where the Aroma of Coffee Beckons ☕️
In the Front Range foothills sits Colorado Springs, where the aroma of freshly brewed coffee beckons sweetly in the morning air, there is a delightful little drive thru café called Humble Bee Roastery Coffee, fondly known as Humble Coffee.
The Heart Behind the Beans ❤️
For nearly a decade, this charming café has been run by two passionate baristas named Juanita “Bunny” Blea and Joshua “Juice” Jewell. After their early days of crafting perfect cups behind the counter, they now lovingly own and nurture Humble Coffee.
Serving with Hospitality 🤗
You’ll find Bunny and Juice still happily serving customers across Humble’s three locations, along with their team of talented baristas. Drive up to their Templeton Gap or Barne’s Rd cafes and baristas will greet you by name while personally preparing your artisanal drink to order right at the window. Stop by their downtown location for a cozy café experience.
Ingredients that Shine ✨
Only the freshest ingredients make their way into Humble's cups, from farm-sourced coffee beans to locally baked treats. Sip their signature White Espresso with its rich, nutty, almost peanut buttery flavor, expertly crafted for you.
A Café Like No Other 💫
The excellence of Humble Coffee shines through their service. Customers are treated to a personal café-style experience, whether at their drive thru or sit down locations. It's quality hospitality you won't find anywhere else.
Community is Brewed Here 👐
This community-focused café hosts fundraising events for neighborhood schools in District 11 and sponsors many art galleries. Partnerships with local businesses such as Blue Sunflour Bakery, Colonel Mustard's Sandwich Emporium and others further their mission of cultivating goodwill and connections amongst neighborhood businesses.
Follow the Aroma 🏃♂️
For now, follow the delicious aroma wafting through Colorado Springs. As Humble Coffee approaches a decade of service, it does so with a commitment to its roots and an eye toward the future—expanding not just in locations but in the hearts of its patrons. Whether through the swift, personal service of the drive-thru or the inviting atmosphere of the downtown café, the Humble Coffee family invites you to become part of their story.
Discover the warmth of coming home with every sip at any Humble Coffee location. Swing by our drive-thrus on 2103 Templeton Gap Road or at the corner of Barnes and Oro Blanco, or settle into the welcoming embrace of our café at 80 S. Cascade Avenue, nestled by the Antlers Hotel.
Here, every customer is part of the Humble Coffee narrative, one that continues to be lovingly written, one cup, one smile, one cherished moment at a time.

💰 El Paso County Approves $491.6M 2024 Budget
El Paso County Commissioners approve the 2024 budget, focusing on fiscal responsibility and enhanced public services. The $491.6 million budget emphasizes road infrastructure, public safety, and veteran services, with a substantial TABOR refund for residents. Despite a unique delay in the budgeting process, the county remains committed to financial efficiency.
Residents can anticipate a $31.7 million TABOR refund, resulting in a $134 credit on property tax bills for approximately 236,000 residential properties. A reduced mill levy of 7.192 mills signifies a significant property tax reduction.
🌡️ 11% Savings! Colorado Springs Beats the Chill
Colorado Springs City Council approves a decrease in natural gas costs, saving customers an average of $6.42 on their bills. However, base rates have increased to cover utility system costs. The decrease is attributed to lower-than-expected natural gas prices due to a warmer winter. This marks the third gas cost adjustment rate decrease in a year, making bills in Colorado Springs 11% lower than other front-range municipalities.

🍋 Sip, Stretch, & Strengthen: Morning Energizers
Kick off your day with vibrant energy using these simple, yet effective, routines designed to revitalize your mornings, no matter the weather or schedule. Here are a few ideas, choose ONE that you can fit into your busy morning schedule then build from there over time.
Morning Momentum: Start your day with a brisk 10-minute walk around your neighborhood to boost energy and clear your mind before diving into daily activities.
Dynamic Stretching: Engage in a short session of dynamic stretching, which involves active movements to stretch and warm up the muscles, like leg swings and arm circles. This can be done even in a small space.
High-Energy Playlist: Create a high-energy playlist and spend a few minutes dancing to it. This not only uplifts your mood but also gets your heart rate up and invigorates your body.
Power Breakfast: Consume a power breakfast that includes complex carbohydrates, protein, and healthy fats to fuel your body. Think oatmeal with nuts and berries or a smoothie with spinach, banana, and almond butter.
Hydrate with Lemon Water: Drink a glass of warm lemon water upon waking. Hydration helps kickstart your metabolism, and the lemon provides a refreshing zest that can help wake up your senses.
Cold Shower Challenge: If you're up for it, take a quick cold shower. The shock of cold water can increase your heart rate, release endorphins, and jump-start your energy levels.
Meditation and Deep Breathing: Spend a few minutes in meditation or deep breathing exercises. This can reduce morning stress and increase oxygen flow to your brain, helping you feel more alert and ready for the day.
Mini Workout Routine: Do a short bodyweight workout consisting of exercises like push-ups, squats, and jumping jacks. Even a few minutes can make a significant difference in energy levels.
Visualization Exercise: Take a moment to visualize your day and set a positive intention. Visualizing a productive and energetic day can mentally prepare you for what's ahead.
Caffeine Kick: If you tolerate caffeine, a small cup of coffee or green tea can provide a quick energy boost. Just be mindful not to overdo it, as too much caffeine can lead to jitters or an afternoon crash.
