🤖 Broadmoor Hosts National STEM Battle Royale

The Broadmoor Hotel hosted a national robotics competition, attracting teenagers from various states, including Colorado schools like Sabin Middle School and Widefield High School, showcasing their skills and innovation in robotics. The competition, by invite only, serves not only as a platform for teams to showcase their talents but also as a catalyst for fostering interest in STEM fields.

Organized by the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Armed Forces Communications & Electronics Association International (AFCEA), the event aims to encourage youth to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). AFCEA's involvement extends beyond robotics, with initiatives like the Cyberspace Symposium, which generates funds to support STEM education for children.

🍕 Louie's Pizza: New Owner, Original Flavor

Louie’s Pizza, a beloved spot in Colorado Springs known for its delicious pies, is making changes under new ownership. The pizzeria, aiming to return to its roots, plans to revive the classic flavors and quality that initially won over the community. Joshua Sales, the new owner, emphasizes the importance of honoring the tradition of Louie’s while ensuring the continuation of serving high-quality pizza.

As part of the revitalization, an invitation has been extended to the original founder, Louie Sciarrotta, to contribute to the process. Rediscover your favorite pizzas and experience the taste that has made Louie’s a local gem.

🤠 Journey Through Time: The Cimarron Legacy in COS

It’s trivia time! As settlements were forming, the Cimarron area's history is intertwined with transportation and progress. The Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad, which began construction in 1888, passed through Cimarron Hills, marking the area as a significant point in Colorado's rail history until the tracks were removed in the 1980s

Today, Cimarron Street (US 24) serves as a vital gateway to downtown and the mountain communities to the west, and the surrounding area, including Cimarron Hills, is an integral part of the city.
