π¨ Where Dedication Meets Creativity: Beauty by Stacianne
Ever wondered what happens when a 20-year Air Force veteran with a passion for art turns her attention to nails? Meet Staci Howard, owner of Beauty by Stacianne, and prepare to be intrigued.
Retiring as an Air Force officer in public health, Staci traded her uniform for a cosmetology kit, driven by a passion for art and empowering others. At Beauty by Stacianne, located at 3273 W Carefree Circle (and home salon in Black Forest), your nails are not just treated; they're transformed. Staci's comprehensive expertise as a licensed cosmetologist ensures a holistic beauty experience. Her specialty? Gel manicures that promise durability and beauty without the added cost, although she's equally skilled in traditional polish techniques.
Staci's approach is deeply personal. She dedicates time to understand your style and requests, making every visit to her salonβby appointment onlyβa uniquely tailored and relaxing experience. She is also flexible with schedules.
While Staci's salon is a haven for nail enthusiasts, she is equally committed to her community, continually seeking ways to share her passion and skills.

π Downtown Library Plans Safety Barrier
Amid safety concerns, the Penrose Library, downtown, is contemplating installing a 7-foot-tall wrought-iron fence around its premises. The proposal, presented by the Pikes Peak Library District (PPLD) to the city's Downtown Review Board, seeks to enhance security, especially after business hours. Highlighting the need for safeguarding the campus, citing incidents of vandalism and health and safety issues (i.e. people loitering in front.) Parents and library patrons express support for the measure, emphasizing the importance of security, particularly for families and visitors.
The library's next steps involve submitting detailed construction plans, including costs and fence placement, for further review by the Downtown Review Board in July.
π° CO Residents Enjoy Savings on Electric Lawn Equipment
Colorado residents can now benefit from SB23-016, a state law passed in 2023, offering a 30% discount on electric lawn equipment at select retailers. The program covers lawnmowers, string trimmers, and leaf blowers powered by battery. Participating stores, including Ace Hardware and Home Depot, automatically apply the discount at checkout for Colorado residents. Sen. Chris Hansen, the bill's sponsor, highlights the environmental benefits of transitioning from gas-powered to electric lawn equipment. Retailers have embraced the initiative, making it easier for residents to access discounted electric lawn tools. Read Full Story
