๐ Power Restored in Northeast Springs
Last night a power outage impacted more than 2,400 customers in northeast Colorado Springs, specifically in the area of North Academy east of Palmer Park. Colorado Springs Utilities restored power by 10:06 PM. The reason for the outage was not provided.
๐ฆ Summer Road Closures for Improvements
Airport Road is closed, west of South Academy through the summer for upgrades to South Academy. Drivers should use detours via Pikes Peak Ave, Chelton Rd, or South Academy.
Boychuck Ave and Jet Wing will also experience closures for underground work and paving. Businesses remain open, with access from South Academy.
๐ค Meet AskCOS: Springs' New AI Chatbot
"AskCOS," a new AI-powered chatbot, is now available on the Colorado Springs website to provide city-specific information. In April, it assisted over 3,200 users. The bot only uses data from the cityโs website and doesn't process service requests, which must go through the GoCOS App or website.
๐ Call 911 if You See This Man
Colorado Springs Sheriff's Department has identified Dan Medina, 51, as the suspect in a shooting incident near Piros and Chantilly in Cimarron Hills, last Thursday. Wanted for attempted murder, Medina is armed and dangerous. The victim, Medina's son, remains hospitalized.
If you have any information related to the case or where Medina is, call the El Paso County Communications Center at 719-390-5555. Authorities urge the public to avoid him and call 911 with any sightings.
