π Brittney McWethy: β Hairdresser, Nurturer, Creative
Brittney McWethy's journey to becoming a beloved hairdresser in Colorado Springs is a tale of passion, vision, and the power of nurturing. Though she's called the city home for just three years, her connection runs deep, having frequently visited family here. That pull, combined with her desire to connect with people, led her to establish Lady and the Blade salon, a sanctuary where clients are encouraged to be their authentic selves. π«
Her creative spirit initially wandered, seeking a true calling, until she found her stride in the world of hairstyling. Brittney's apprenticeship, assisting a dozen stylists and absorbing a myriad of techniques, was a transformative experience that shaped her into the expert she is today, with over 20 years of experience.
At Lady and the Blade salon, Brittney offers more than just haircuts. She believes in the uniqueness of every individual, drawing out their inner beauty and helping it radiate outwardly. Whether you're seeking stylish layering, a chic pixie cut, vibrant color, or luscious extensions, Brittney's expertise shines. β¨ With a nurturing spirit honed as the eldest of five siblings, she connects with clients on a personal level, full of gratitude in being a part of their special moments and milestones.

Colorado Springs has expanded its collection of Humpty Dumpty sculptures with a new interactive duo, "Eggschange," near the El Paso County Courthouse. Created by artist Kimber Fiebiger, these sculptures have become popular fixtures, with six new additions recently installed. Each sculpture has a unique personality, contributing to the city's charm and inviting residents and visitors to explore and enjoy.
π Dumpster Refugee Rescued by CSFD
Colorado Springs Fire Department conducted a successful rescue early yesterday morning, freeing a man trapped inside a garbage truck. The man had taken refuge in a dumpster to escape cold and windy weather before being accidentally collected by the truck. He sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
π¦ Bat Tests Positive for Rabies Near School
A bat discovered outside Grant Elementary, near North Academy and Austin Bluffs, tested positive for rabies, the first case in El Paso County this year. Health officials confirmed that no one touched the bat and emphasized the importance of avoiding contact with wild animals, especially as outdoor activity increases in warmer months. Preventive tips and local rabies statistics provided on the El Paso County Public Health website.
