π Mobile Blood Transfusions Now in Colorado Springs
The Colorado Springs Fire Department, in collaboration with UCHealth, has launched a groundbreaking mobile blood transfusion service. This initiative allows paramedics to provide critical blood transfusions at the scene of trauma, significantly enhancing survival rates. Funded by the UCHealth Memorial Hospital Foundation, this service is the first of its kind in the state and operates 24/7.
π New Helipad Boosts MedEvacs
Evans Army Community Hospital (EACH), has officially opened a new helicopter landing pad, enhancing its capacity for medical evacuations. The helipad, located near the emergency room entrance, will primarily serve patients requiring advanced care at civilian facilities. This project, completed with the help of Fort Carsonβs engineering and public works teams, highlights the hospital's commitment to providing superior healthcare services to military personnel and their families.
π§ Black Forest Roadwork: Use Alternate Routes
Black Forest Road will be reduced to one lane with flaggers south of Research Parkway to the bridge over Cottonwood Creek through tomorrow, May 24, weather depending, to accommodate work in the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and seek alternate routes, if possible.
Additionally, northbound Black Forest Road will continue to have one northbound lane at Research through the end of the summer. A dedicated left turn lane will not be reestablished at this time due to construction needs for new stormwater infrastructure.
π¨ 40 Cars Vandalized in southeast Colorado Springs Break-Ins
Residents at apartment complexes in southeast Colorado Springs, near Quail Lake, are dealing with significant vehicle damage after a series of break-ins affecting up to 40 cars. The Colorado Springs Police Department, citing staffing shortages and the misdemeanor classification of such crimes, did not dispatch officers to the scenes. Residents are advised to file police reports for future recovery and prosecution of stolen items. Full Story
π₯ Instant Pot Chicken and Broccoli
This recipe is infinitely customizable, so have some fun and add ingredients that give it a unique twist. This recipe already has a lot of Asian flavors, but you could add ginger or another Asian sauce such as oyster sauce or hoisin sauce. Including red pepper flakes will give the dish a delightful spice level, or add a splash of coconut milk or heavy cream to give it richness.
