💔 Financial Strain Hits Children's Hospital Colorado Springs

Children's Hospital Colorado in Colorado Springs is facing potential closure of its cancer treatment center and cuts in other key departments due to Tricare's revised payment structure, which aims to save the military over $45 million annually but has caused the hospital over $2 million in monthly losses. The change could force families to travel to Denver for treatment, creating significant hardships. The hospital is waiting on legislative outcomes before making final decisions, with 16,000 children insured by Tricare affected.

Imagine stepping into the Templeton Building at 2504 W. Colorado Ave in 1891, when Old Colorado City was a bustling frontier town 🤠. The scent of fresh produce, leather goods, and the faint hint of ink from the freshly stamped envelopes would fill the air.

You'd hear the soft murmur of neighbors exchanging news and the rustle of burlap sacks being filled with supplies. This iconic landmark was more than just a building; it was the heart of the community, providing essential services and a gathering place for locals.

🐎 What 2 essential services did the bustling Templeton Building bring together under 1 roof in 1891?
