π Hope: UEF's Legacy of Healing in Colorado Springs
π€ A Nurturing Embrace When Life Calls for Support
Founded in 1986 by Hossca and Rebecca Harrison after Hossca's transformative coma experience, the Universal Education Foundation (UEF) has guided individuals for over 35 years to heal through non-traditional ways. Though less involved day-to-day now, the founders remain engaged in this remarkable work they started.
Carrying the torch today is their daughter, Tami Urbanek, who leads as President with degrees in Psychology, Special Education, and Nonprofit Management. Tami upholds her parents' belief that self-love and connection pave the path to wholeness. After settling into their new Colorado Springs home in 2021, UEF now offers a nurturing embrace to our local community.
At the heart of UEF are the free peer support groups like Young Adult, Parent, Teen, and 30s/40s. Here, individuals gather in a welcoming space with snacks and warm drinks to share stories and gain new perspectives. Because in this journey called life, we all need support sometimes.
UEF's mission extends beyond the support groups through initiatives like The Clothing Giveaway which allows dignity in receiving donated clothes, the Nonprofit Collaborative that unites local organizations, and the Sanctuary event space that sustains UEF's vision.
Whether seeking community, volunteering, or inspiration, UEF wraps its arms around all who enter. This is a place to forge deep connections, heal from life's hurts, and rediscover your authentic self.
