π Engage in Public Safety Forum TONIGHT
Law Enforcement Transparency and Advisory Commission (LETAC) is hosting a community conversation TONIGHT at 5:30 pm at Library 21C to discuss public safety priorities and concerns related to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD). LETAC, formed in 2020, is an 11-member advisory body tasked with making recommendations to the City Council, Mayor's Office, and CSPD. Tonight's meeting seeks to engage residents in meaningful dialogue and gather input for future recommendations.
π§ Plan Ahead: Road Closures in the Springs
Starting today June 24, Colorado Springs Utilities will conduct emergency repairs on S Academy and Airport Rd, requiring road closures and lane reductions until June 28. Additional lane shifts and resurfacing will occur on June 30.
Also, Jet Wing Drive will remain closed south of Hancock Expressway for underground work, with traffic being detoured to Hancock Expressway. Business access remains open, but significant delays are expected.
π΄β Celebrate Bike to Work Day June 26
On Wed June 26, Colorado Springs will host its annual Bike to Work Day, encouraging residents to cycle to work for a greener and healthier commute. The event offers free breakfast from various downtown businesses and two free e-bike rentals with PikeRide using the code BTWD24. The initiative promotes cleaner air, reduces traffic, and fosters community connections. Several breakfast stops, including the YMCA and U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum, will be available for cyclists. More details on trails and stops can be found here.
π« Boosters vs. Disruptors: Navigating Menopause
Menopause brings significant hormonal changes that necessitate adjustments in diet and lifestyle to manage symptoms effectively. Foods and habits known as "boosters" support health and alleviate menopause symptoms, while "disruptors" can worsen them.
Making mindful choices can help mitigate common issues like hot flashes, fatigue, and joint pain, leading to a more comfortable and healthy transition through this stage of life.
