🥚 Humpty Dumpties’ Multiply Downtown!
The whimsical Humpty Dumpty statue collection in Colorado Springs has grown to 24 with the addition of three new sculptures at the Plaza of the Rockies. Created by artist Kimber Fiebiger, each statue features a playful pun name like the new Eggsplorer, Free Range Egg and Robin’s Egg. With six new statues delivered, the city will see further installations soon. Where can you find each Humpty Dumpty? Click here for their locations and go check them out when you have time.
🧸 Peak Vista’s Childcare Solution
Peak Vista Community Health Centers in Southern Colorado have introduced Well-Child Waiting Areas at three locations, offering free childcare for healthy children aged 6 months to 12 years. This initiative helps parents attend medical appointments without needing to find daytime babysitters. The areas provide educational activities and are staffed by bilingual attendants. Peak Vista aims to alleviate childcare barriers to healthcare access, encouraging more patients to utilize this service. If you know of anyone who isn’t attending to their health due to lack of childcare, please spread the word!
🦗 Non-Toxic Grasshopper Control Tips
In Colorado Springs, gardeners facing grasshopper infestations can utilize various natural and non-toxic methods. Regular lawn maintenance, neem oil, garlic spray, and tilling soil are effective initial steps. Diatomaceous earth and vinegar sprays offer non-toxic deterrents. Integrated Pest Management techniques, such as physical barriers and natural predators, can also help. Preventive measures like weeding, turning off exterior lights, and using trap crops provide long-term solutions.
