π§ Traffic Changes Ahead: Nevada & Fillmore
Construction project at the intersection of Nevada and Fillmore, originally scheduled for early August, will now start today, Aug 13 during nighttime hours. Colorado Springs Utilities postponed the project to expand its scope and enhance safety. The work includes installing new underground electric lines to improve the reliability of the Nevada Corridorβs electric grid. Traffic will be impacted, especially from Aug 13-20, with restrictions on left turns and detours in place. This marks the last major project with significant customer impact in the area, although further grid improvements will continue over the next year.

π Fort Carson's Latest Scam Alert: What You Need to Know
Fort Carson has issued a warning to incoming soldiers about an online housing scam that has victimized several service members. The scam involves fraudulent rental listings where soldiers are tricked into paying deposit fees for homes that are not actually available. Please pass this information along if you know of any military coming to the area, looking for housing.
Fort Carson recommends using the official housing website and contacting the Directorate of Public Works Housing Service Office at 719-526-9413 or 719-526-5219, for reliable housing options and assistance. The base also provides various resources to help soldiers with their relocation needs, including legal guidance, homebuying workshops, and financial aid.
