🥦 Every Vegetable Counts at Marian House
Marian House, part of the Catholic Charities organization, on 14 W Bijou St is calling for fresh produce donations to combat increasing food insecurity. Their director emphasized that fresh produce is difficult to obtain but crucial for nutritious meals.
If you are a gardener and wind up with excess…here is your chance to contribute to the “greater good.” Donations of all sizes are welcome, and even imperfectly shaped produce is accepted if it meets freshness standards. Local gardens are already contributing, and there's a call for more gardeners to join the effort.
Recent data from the Colorado Health Institute highlights the growing problem, with 12% of El Paso County residents reporting reduced food consumption due to financial constraints. Full Story

A car accidentally crashed into Chaang Thai restaurant, 7525 N Academy, causing significant damage and temporary closure. The incident, unrelated to recent intentional crashes for theft in the city, resulted in about $30,000 in damages. No injuries were reported, and the driver was cited for reckless driving.
