🚑 Colorado Springs Faces a Healthcare Crisis—Here's Why
Imagine suffering a violent seizure while driving, and months later, you’re still waiting to see a doctor. This is the reality for Christine Hyatt, a local resident who has been left in limbo, waiting more than seven months for a neurological appointment after a seizure broke her back in four places. Could this happen to you or a loved one in a crisis? As Colorado Springs faces a growing shortage of physicians, thousands of patients are stranded in medical situations, forced to wait for essential care. With the shortage worsening due to medical school costs, an aging workforce, and post-pandemic burnout, what can be done to ensure that people get the care they need — before it’s too late? Full Story
🚔 Patrols Are Up: What You Should Know
Fall season is here and so is Colorado’s longest DUI enforcement campaign is in full swing, running through October 23 (picking up again Oct 30-Nov 3). With the spike in seasonal festivities, including football games and fall celebrations, the risk of impaired driving rises. Last year, impaired driving caused 227 deaths across Colorado, many in our city. Local law enforcement, including the Colorado Springs Police, is ramping up patrols, urging drivers to plan ahead and use safe alternatives like rideshares. The cost of a DUI — or worse, a life — is too high. Are you prepared to make the right choice this fall and keep our roads safe?
🍂 When and Where to Catch Peak Foliage
Colorado’s fall colors are already transforming the landscape, especially in Teller County, where the aspens are quickly turning golden. Wondering when and where to catch the best of it? Timing is everything, and the window is closing fast for the northern regions and the higher elevations. From Pikes Peak Highway to Mueller State Park, there are plenty of local spots to explore, but don’t wait—storms, cold snaps, and high winds can cut the viewing season short. The further south you go, the later the peak, but for the best local colors, plan a trip soon before the vibrant hues fade. Will you make the most of it, or miss out on nature’s golden show?

🌶 Dried Cherry Chili Colorado Barbecue Sauce
Created by local Colorado Springs chef, Jason Miller at Season Two Taste. Due to this weekend being the Pueblo Chili Festival and Colorado chili’s being in season, we thought this was a great “scrumptious all purpose barbecue sauce, tangy and sweet” recipe to share. 🤤
