🤫 Meet The Pain Whisperer - Amy Cook-Porter
🙆♀️ Insight for Those Yearning for Relief at Miriam's Place
Have you ever felt like something was "off" in your body, but doctors couldn't pinpoint the cause? Or struggled with nagging pain and limitations despite following treatment plans?
For Amy Cook-Porter, the owner of Miriam's Place, this quest for answers began with her stepmom's struggle with a severe closed head injury, (a type of traumatic brain injury that doesn't involve an open wound but can cause invisible yet profound damage.) The injury resulted from a car accident, followed by a traumatic fall, compounding the damage to her stepmom’s brain.
Witnessing the limitations of conventional treatments in providing relief for her loved one's debilitating symptoms, Amy was driven to explore alternative therapies. This journey led her to discover biodynamic therapies - gentle, hands-on techniques that work with the body's natural movements to help it regain balance and vitality.
Inspired by the potential of these methods, Amy dedicated herself to mastering alternative therapies. Now as a registered craniosacral and lymphatic therapist, Amy's mission is to guide others on their own paths to wellness and improve quality of life. She understands when chronic issues prevent you from doing activities you love because of pain or dwindling energy levels. She gets your frustration of feeling misunderstood and struggling to function at your best.
With a calming presence and skilled touch, Amy carefully evaluates each unique situation. Using her training, she tracks discomfort back to its source, draining built-up fluid and restoring balance so areas can move freely again. But her approach goes beyond the physical - Amy educates you on your body's innate wisdom, empowering you for optimal wellness.
To start your journey towards feeling like your old self or better, Amy begins with a phone consultation to learn about your needs and determine the best way forward. Inquire TODAY at (719) 235-7872 or email [email protected]. Located at 1519 East Boulder St.
⚠️ Did You Buy These? Massive Meat Recall
Over 9.9 million pounds of ready-to-eat meat products, sold at major retailers including Walmart, Target, and Trader Joe’s, have been recalled due to possible listeria contamination. Consumers are urged to check for affected items and discard them immediately. Full Story

🐻 Bear Encounters Rising—Could Your Trash Be Next?
Bear encounters in Southern Colorado spike during the colder months as bears search for food to prepare for hibernation. In a state called hyperphagia, they spend up to 22 hours a day eating, often targeting trash bins left outside.
To address this, Colorado Parks and Wildlife worked with city officials in Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs to enforce ordinances that require residents to store trash indoors or use bear-resistant containers. These efforts aim to reduce human-bear interactions by limiting the bears' access to human food sources. Full Story

🔥 Confused About Local Fire Bans? Here’s the Scoop
In response to ongoing hot and dry weather, many Southern Colorado regions have activated wildfire prevention measures. While the intent is to reduce fire risk, the specific restrictions can vary, meaning residents could face penalties if they assume the rules are the same everywhere. Colorado Springs and neighboring counties have set their own burn restrictions based on fire danger levels. To stay compliant, residents should contact local fire departments or sheriff's offices to confirm what is permitted when it comes to open flames and burning.
