🎠 Can One Wish Change a Community?

Apple Park swing

Thanks to 7-year-old Annellyse Berger’s heartfelt wish, Apple Park in the Northgate neighborhood, now has an accessible swing that welcomes children of all abilities.

Living with a genetic disorder, Annellyse uses a wheelchair, making it difficult for her family to help her enjoy the park’s swings as she gets older. When Make-A-Wish heard her story, Annellyse asked not for a personal trip or item but for an inclusive swing that all children in her community could enjoy together. What an amazing little girl who has dealt with so much in her short life so far. Her selfless request inspired Make-A-Wish to install the new swing, now creating a welcoming space for children to play side by side. Annellyse’s family is overjoyed, knowing this addition will bring happiness and friendship to their daughter and many more in the neighborhood. Full Story

🐾 Pet Safety 101: Halloween Edition

Pet Safety 101: Halloween Edition

Halloween festivities can be a stressful and potentially dangerous time for our pets, with costumes, decorations, and constant visitors posing various risks. To protect pets, the American Veterinary Medical Association advises against feeding them Halloween treats, which can be toxic, especially chocolate. Ensure pets wear collars with identification and keep hazardous items like lit candles, glow sticks, and batteries out of reach.

For those planning to dress up their pets, the AVMA suggests checking costumes ahead of time for comfort, proper fit, and safety. If pets tend to get anxious or reactive, consider keeping them away from the front door during trick-or-treating hours. With a few simple precautions, Halloween can be safe and stress-free for pets and their families alike.

👻 Haunting for Hope This Week

Springs ATA Martial Arts Dojo Haunted House

In a heartfelt Halloween tradition, Chris and Melody Noller transform Springs ATA Martial Arts Dojo into a haunted house, raising funds for the American Cancer Foundation. The cause is personal: Chris lost his mother to cancer, and Melody has survived 3 different cancers herself. Determined to help others affected, they set up an elaborate haunted house with volunteer actors, creating eerie scenes with props they’ve collected over 15 years.

For $15 per ticket, visitors can enjoy this haunting experience from 6-10pm today and tomorrow at 1025 Ford St, while supporting the fight against cancer. Additionally, the Nollers run a light show at their Rockcastle Drive home, where every thrill helps fuel their mission to bring hope. Full Story

🏡Trivia: Over 30K Residents Call This Neighborhood Home - Can You Name It?

Colorado Springs Neighborhood

In 1978, two visionary developers had a dream to create a master-planned community that would redefine suburban living in Colorado Springs. Starting with just raw land, they worked with the Urban Land Institute to design a neighborhood that would grow to house over 30,000 residents, with beautiful homes, parks, shopping centers, and schools all thoughtfully integrated.

What began as 9,600 acres of open space has transformed into one of the city's most sought-after areas, featuring distinctive architectural styles from Prairie to European Cottage, and embracing a philosophy of "Live, Work, Play, Shop, Worship, Learn and Connect." *Source
