🔥 Why Cheyenne Mountain May Look Smoky Today

Cheyenne Mountain

This morning, Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station will conduct controlled live-fire training from 9am to noon. This planned exercise, complete with safety measures, may produce visible smoke in the southwest area of Colorado Springs. This training is part of the station’s ongoing preparedness efforts, helping keep defense missions ready and secure. The public is advised not to worry, as it’s all within a controlled environment.

🕯️ Why Colorado Springs is Glowing Teal Tonight

“Light the World in Teal,”

If you notice a teal glow lighting up iconic Colorado Springs landmarks tonight, there’s a powerful reason behind it. This vibrant color marks “Light the World in Teal,” a national campaign by the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America to raise awareness for Alzheimer’s disease.

Colorado is home to nearly 91,000 people diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, with thousands more family members and friends serving as unpaid caregivers. As rates continue to rise, the teal glow is a reminder of the pressing need for support, research, and a cure. So, if you see that bright teal light, remember—it's more than just a color; it’s a call to care.

🕒 End of Daylight Savings, Don’t Forget These First

End of Daylight Savings

With Daylight Saving ending Sunday, it’s a great time to winter-proof your home. Start by disconnecting hoses from exterior faucets and adding bib covers for added freeze protection. Change air filters for efficient heating, replace batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and clear gutters to prevent water issues. Finally, reverse ceiling fans to make your home warmer.

These simple steps will help you enjoy a cozier, well-prepared winter season.
