🔎 Interesting find!
Here’s a 1964 letter read again today by the legendary Dick Van Dyke—its message feels as relevant today as ever. Please don’t focus on who he’s voting for as that’s not the point. It’s about how history repeats itself and the power of words across time.
✈️ Traveling This Holiday? Save on Parking!
If you're flying out of Colorado Springs Airport (COS) this holiday season, plan it right and get 50% off long-term parking! For two periods—Nov 25 to Dec 1 and Dec 20 to Jan 2—COS is dropping the daily parking fee from $8 to $4.
This promotion is part of the airport’s appreciation for local travelers, making it a great time to choose COS for your holiday travel. Just exit through a manned booth to get the discount, no coupon needed. COS is making it easy to save a bit extra on holiday travel right from the start!
🚧 Detours Ahead on South Academy
Planning to travel along S Academy? Be aware of several upcoming lane shifts and closures as the widening project continues. Starting today at 4:30am until Thurs, Nov 7 at 4:30am, the northbound lane over Fountain Creek Bridge will shift to a new alignment for repairs, while Willshire Dr will close temporarily for sound wall work.
These adjustments are part of broader improvements to reduce congestion and increase safety on South Academy. As lane alignments and detours vary throughout the week, it’s a good idea to stay updated and drive carefully through the work zone, especially where merge lanes have been shortened. The full project, managed by El Paso County, is expected to wrap up in early 2026.
🐻 Feeling Stressed? Emmett’s Got You!
With Election Day today, we could all use a moment to de-stress. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo has just the thing—an adorable video of Emmett the Bear bobbing for apples. Emmett can be seen diving, crunching, and rolling in the water with pure joy, creating a lighthearted escape and add a touch of tranquility to your day.
🧐 TRIVIA: Early Colorado Springs Claims: Health Haven or Clever Marketing?
Colorado Springs' history as a health destination is filled with audacious marketing claims that would raise eyebrows today.
In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, city promoters boldly marketed the area as a world-class health resort, going so far as to claim that "The atmosphere is antiseptic and free from all germs, and is so pure and invigorating that it acts as a tonic to the entire system." This outrageous assertion, along with other bold claims, drew visitors from across America and Europe seeking the city's supposedly curative climate. *Source1 *Source2
😲 What audacious claim did early Colorado Springs promoters make about the city's appeal to international health-seekers? |
Would you do us a favor and spread the word? We have a goal to add another 500 453 subscribers by Thanksgiving but we need your HELP to get there! If each of you know just 1 person that would enjoy COS TT and they subscribed, we would surpass this goal easily. 🤗
