🎖️ Storm Cleared for Veterans Parade
The Colorado Springs Veterans Day Parade marched down Tejon on Saturday, honoring veterans and active-duty military…made extra special after the snowstorm cleared just in time for the festivities.
After a last-minute revival, the event welcomed over 100 participants and a crowd eager to pay tribute. This event almost didn’t happen due to low participation, but the city and organizers stepped in, reviving this beloved tradition and giving the community a chance to show heartfelt support.

🏗 Fresh Look Coming to Tejon Street
The city’s new revitalization project for Tejon Street in downtown Colorado Springs will enhance the area with accessible walkways, expanded outdoor dining, and relocated delivery zones, all to boost safety and business access. Kicking off early next year, the project will start with the first two blocks between Colorado and East Kiowa.
Input from local businesses has guided the design, which will maintain most parking while enhancing pedestrian spaces and safety. With greenery and broader sidewalks in the plans, the project is expected to make downtown even more welcoming, with the first phase targeted for completion by summer. Full Story

🧤 Local Shelters Urgent Need for Winter Donations
As temperatures dropped in Colorado Springs, the Salvation Army and Colorado Springs Rescue Mission are urgently seeking winter donations. Both shelters rely on community support to provide essential cold-weather clothing, including coats, hats, gloves, and scarves, for individuals and families in need.
With resources stretched thin, donations are essential to keeping people safe from freezing conditions. Drop-offs can be made at the Salvation Army’s Family Hope Center, (709 S. Sierra Madre) and the Rescue Mission, (1109 S Tejon). By contributing, you’re helping make this winter safer and warmer for those who need it most. Full Story
