🙋♀️ Speak Up for Affordable Housing Needs
The City of Colorado Springs is seeking public input to guide how federal funds will be allocated over the next five years. These funds support affordable housing, homelessness prevention, economic development, and neighborhood improvements for low- and moderate-income residents.
The City will host two public hearings this Wed, Nov 20 (6–7pm) and Thurs, Nov 21 (1–2pm) at the City Administration Building or online. The feedback gathered will inform the 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan and 2025 Annual Action Plan, which outline how resources from programs like the Community Development Block Grant and Emergency Solutions Grant will be used. Now’s the time to voice your opinion to make a difference!

🚧 Traffic Shift on Nevada
South Nevada, from Brookside St to the I-25 ramps, were closed overnight and should be open again by 5am this morning, if all went as planned. However, be informed that barriers were shifted and pavement markings were updated.
Affected areas are Brookside St, S Tejon, and I-25 connectors. Allow extra time for possible delays.
🧜♀️ Underwater Magic Takes the Stage
Get ready for an enchanting take on "Disney's The Little Mermaid" at the Fine Arts Center Theatre Company, running Nov 15 - Dec 29. This innovative production features 52 handcrafted puppets and a cast of 22, bringing Ariel’s underwater world to life.

🚨 Kidnapping Escape Ends in Standoff
This past Saturday, a woman bravely escaped an alleged kidnapping and alerted staff at a local business. Her captor, identified as Jason Cobb, intervened, and they left together before police tracked them to a home on Lorraine St in the Broadmoor area.
CSPD forced entry into the residence out of concern for her safety and found the woman, who confirmed she had been abducted at gunpoint. Cobb fled the home and hid in a neighboring attic, accessing it through a connected ceiling.
With the help of tactical teams, including K-9 units and drones, CSPD apprehended Cobb and charged him with kidnapping-related offenses in addition to an outstanding warrant. The victim is safe, thanks to her bravery and the swift response from local law enforcement. Full Story
