🥰 If Hallmark Made Tie-Dye: Captain Drips Studio's Love Story
👩🎨 Sometimes The Most Vibrant Dreams Start With An Unexpected Turn...
Like your favorite romance movie, this story begins on a school bus in upstate New York, where two free spirited kids found each other just a mile apart. Holly and Matty Hilts' tale of friendship-turned-love now flourishes in Old Colorado City at Captain Drips Tie Dye Studio – proving some of the best stories come with a splash of color.
When life threw them a curveball with a flooded basement, they saw opportunity blooming. That space became their first studio, where years of hosting artistic tie-dye gatherings evolved into something bigger. While balancing their careers, they've transformed their passion into a welcoming haven at 2215 West Colorado Ave, where everyday moments become wearable art.
Curious about their name and logo? Thank the Grateful Dead's, Jerry Garcia and his "Captain Trips" nickname. 💀
Though they help you create stunning designs year-round, Holly and Matty’s eyes light up when it snows – that's when they craft their signature Rocky Mountain snow-dyed pieces, infusing a touch of Colorado magic to your creation.
Ready to add some color to your life? Schedule your session online, and Holly and Matty will prepare everything for your arrival.
As a special thank you to our readers, mention this article to receive a FREE matching bandana – perfect for completing your unique design!
So, gather your friends, family, or treat yourself to a creative adventure and have lots of fun! Captain Drips is more than just a studio; it's a place where memories are made, one vibrant design at a time.

🚧Traffic Alert: Academy Emergency Water Main Repairs
Courtesy of Colorado Springs Utilities
A water main break has led to the closure of 3 southbound lanes on N Academy between Palmer Park and E San Miguel. Colorado Springs Utilities is on the job, aiming to finish repairs and reopen the lanes by 7am this morning. If you’re heading this way, expect delays and consider alternate routes.

🌉 Is the Fillmore Bridge Safe?
Residents have expressed concerns about the Fillmore Street bridge's safety due to a tilted rocker bearing. However, the City of Colorado Springs states the bridge is safe, with regular inspections ensuring its stability. An open house was held to discuss the bridge's upcoming improvement project, which is still in the initial phase and will span several years. The city encourages community engagement as plans progress.
👴 Adopt-A-Senior Returns!
According to KOAA, the Adopt-A-Senior gift-giving campaign in Colorado Springs is relaunching to bring joy to seniors during the holidays. Led by Yevgeniya Tsyganok, the food pantry manager at Solid Rock. This effort encourages the community to donate items such as socks, blankets, and puzzles. Aiming to assemble 200 gift bags this year, the campaign seeks to ensure seniors feel remembered and appreciated.
Donations are accepted at Solid Rock Community Food Bank and Fresh Move Neighborhood Grocery Store until December 20. Full Story
