🤔 What If Everything You Know About Skincare Is Wrong?
🌱 A Natural Path to Radiant Skin: Lavender & Thyme
In a charming 1950s cabin along Shoup Road, Marissa Searle offers more than skincare—she offers transformation. Over 20 years ago, Marissa faced one of the most challenging chapters of her life. After gaining 105 pounds during her first pregnancy, she struggled with feeling disconnected from her body and her sense of self. Searching for answers, she embarked on a journey to reclaim her health and confidence. Along the way, she uncovered a profound truth: true radiance begins from within.
This realization sparked a passion for wellness that changed everything. Through years of studying herbalism and botanical aesthetics, Marissa found ways to heal not just the skin but the person beneath it. Her personal journey from struggle to empowerment fuels her mission to help you feel confident and radiant.
At Lavender & Thyme Holistic Skin Therapy + Apothecary, Marissa combines time-tested herbal wisdom with modern techniques to help you achieve lasting results. Her treatments stimulate natural collagen production, reduce inflammation, and restore your skin's youthful glow – all without harsh chemicals or invasive procedures.
In her serene apothecary, Marissa handcrafts small-batch wellness products using therapeutic herbs and natural ingredients. Her best-selling magnesium butter helps you find peaceful sleep, while her herbal facial oils target fine lines and uneven tone. Each formula is rooted in her extensive knowledge of over 65 healing herbs.
As a single mother of three, Marissa understands the importance of self-care and renewal. She takes time to listen to your story, creating personalized treatment plans that address both your immediate concerns and long-term skin health goals.
Experience the natural difference at Lavender & Thyme. Visit Fri 10-4 (closed 11:30-1), Sat 10-4 and Sun Noon-3 (through Dec 31) to explore Marissa's natural skincare collection or schedule your personal consultation to begin your journey toward healthier, more radiant skin.

🕯️ A Light in the Darkness for El Paso
The Heartbeat Memory Tree at Rock Ledge Ranch is more than just a holiday decoration—it’s a heartfelt tribute to those lost to suicide. Over 400 ornaments, each engraved with a name, honor loved ones who are no longer here. This decades-long tradition began in 1980 to support grieving families, offering hope and connection during a difficult time of year.
The event is especially significant in El Paso County, which leads Colorado in suicide rates. Last year, nearly 200 of the state’s 1,200 suicide deaths occurred in our region. The tree lighting ceremony is a space for healing, reflection, and support for those navigating grief. Visitors can stop by nightly through the second week of January to pay their respects and find a moment of solace. Full Story
🎅 Brighten a Senior’s Holiday Season

The holidays can be a bittersweet time for seniors who feel isolated or disconnected from loved ones. Senior centers like Silver Key and Winslow Court are stepping up with festive activities designed to bring joy and connection. These include crafting ornaments, viewing holiday lights, and fostering community bonds.
Loneliness is not just an emotional struggle—it’s a significant health risk. Experts compare its impact to smoking or heavy drinking, making it even more important to check in on seniors. Whether it’s a quick phone call, a shared activity, or simply showing up, small gestures can help combat isolation and create a sense of belonging. This holiday season, let’s give the gift of time and connection. Full Story
