🚧 Fillmore Bridge Maintenance Ends

Finally…the Fillmore bridge near I-25, connecting Tremont and Sinton, will reopen to full traffic tomorrow, after eight months of maintenance work. Repairs included bridge deck updates, waterproofing, and an asphalt overlay to improve safety and functionality.

Though this maintenance phase is complete, the bridges are approaching the end of their service life, prompting a longer-term replacement project led by the City. With funding from PPRTA and federal grants, planning is underway, and public input will be key in shaping the final project.

✈️ Holiday Flight? Save on Parking

If you’re flying out of Colorado Springs Airport (COS) for the holiday, take advantage of their parking promotion offering 50% off daily long-term parking tomorrow through Jan 2. That means parking costs just $4 per day in the long-term and overflow lots.

With holiday travel bringing in more traffic, the airport’s short-term and long-term lots may fill up. If they do, you’ll be directed to the overflow lot, located just west of the terminal. Be sure to follow the signs and allow extra time to navigate to these areas.

Note that the discount doesn’t apply to short-term parking, and for the discounted rate, exit through a manned booth. It’s an easy way to save while starting your holiday journey!

Yesterday, the holiday spirit came to life as 230 families from Harrison School District 2 received gifts from Pikes Peak United Way's holiday drive. Thanks to the generosity of donors—including many of our subscribers—families in need had their holiday wish lists fulfilled.

This effort brought joy to children, peace to caregivers, and a sense of togetherness to our community. For some families, these gifts were the only presents they would receive this year.
