🦒 Changes Ahead at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is introducing a temporary admissions process starting in early January to support exciting upgrades, including a new admissions area, expanded giraffe yard, and a state-of-the-art giraffe barn. Visitors will follow three simple steps to enter: scan tickets, verify hand stamps, and proceed through temporary welcome gates.
While construction is underway, all animal exhibits will remain open, with updated maps and signs to guide you through the slightly adjusted layout. Zoo staff are on hand to assist and ensure a seamless experience, whether you’re planning to start your adventure with the giraffes or follow your usual route. These changes are a step toward an even better Zoo, promising enhanced experiences for visitors and animals alike.

🚧 Potholes Everywhere: What’s Being Done?
Courtesy KRDO Road Warrior
Despite significant efforts by city and county crews, potholes remain a challenge in Colorado Springs and El Paso County. Officials have repaired more potholes than last year, with over 92,000 filled by city crews alone. Contributing factors include an unusually wet 2023, increased reporting, and the sheer number of roads in need of repaving.
Crews often address potholes as they encounter them, even when jurisdiction overlaps, ensuring faster fixes. While residents express frustration, areas like the Colorado Centre community are set for major improvements over the next two years. Officials remind everyone to report potholes to the appropriate agencies, emphasizing that every report helps keep roads safer. Full Story
