🧽 From Grime to Glow, Meet Alyssa

Nooks & Crannies Cleaning Co

🧼 With Alyssa, Every Nook and Cranny Shines

Imagine stepping into a spotless home, breathing in the fresh scent of clean. Sunlight streams through sparkling windows onto gleaming surfaces. The weight of the day lifts as you exhale, finally able to relax in your clean, comfortable space. This is the experience Alyssa Markle, owner of Nooks & Crannies Cleaning Co., creates for homeowners across Colorado Springs.

A local native since age four, as a military kid, Alyssa understands the value of home and community. After a brief dance internship in New York City, she returned to the close-knit family and community she loved. While pursuing her college degree, she worked in home healthcare, discovering the profound impact a clean environment has on well-being. This realization, combined with her innate desire to serve others, sparked an idea.

Recognizing that many families struggle to find time for deep cleaning, Alyssa launched Nooks & Crannies Cleaning Co. while also working at a local non-profit. Her goal: to make professional cleaning accessible and affordable.

Alyssa’s approach is personal. She’ll meet with you to discuss your specific needs and priorities, ensuring a customized clean that fits your lifestyle. She provides all supplies, including eco-friendly options. More than just cleaning, Alyssa creates a space where you can unwind and recharge.

EXCLUSIVE: Mention this article when booking any service to receive a FREE deep oven cleanout (a $50 value). Don't miss this chance to finally get that oven spotless – it's the deep clean you've been putting off, now included free with your service.

Alyssa can't wait to help you transform your home into the clean, peaceful space you deserve. Give her a call at (719) 244-3477 or visit her Facebook page and NooksCranniesCleaningCo.com (website in progress)she'd love to chat with you about your home cleaning needs.

☢️ Hidden Danger in Your Home: Test Now

Nearly 50% of Colorado homes have unsafe radon levels

El Paso County Public Health is encouraging residents to test their homes for radon this winter. Radon is a radioactive gas and the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S., responsible for hundreds of deaths annually in Colorado. Nearly 50% of Colorado homes have unsafe radon levels, and El Paso County is a high-risk area.

Because radon is odorless and invisible, testing is the only way to detect it. Kits are affordable, and programs are available to reduce testing and mitigation costs for low-income households. Visit El Paso County Public Health online to find test kits, learn about mitigation options, and keep your home safe.

🔌 Big Changes for Springs Utilities’ Grid

Colorado Springs Utilities

Colorado Springs Utilities is advancing key energy projects to provide reliable and cost-effective power while supporting the city’s transition to sustainable energy. A new battery storage system, expected to launch in 2025, will store energy for peak usage, improving efficiency and reducing carbon emissions.

Springs Utilities is also investing in new natural gas pipeline capacity to meet growing demands and reinforce the local electric grid. These upgrades align with state energy mandates and ensure our community has a secure energy future. Residents are encouraged to stay informed and participate in public meetings to learn more about these impactful projects.

😿 Vet Clinic Grapples with Growing Crisis

Vet Clinic Grapples with Growing Crisis

Crossroads Animal Hospital on Austin Bluffs and Academy, is dealing with the impacts of homelessness on their property, a situation that intensified after nearby fencing redirected unhoused individuals to the area. Despite city efforts, problems persist. Staff members face challenges ranging from makeshift fire pits to security incidents, creating a sense of unease.

Dr. Hyden, the medical director, sympathizes with the homeless individuals’ struggles, especially as temperatures drop, but calls for stronger measures to address the situation and protect his staff and business. The hospital continues to work with local authorities, but sadly enforcement and long-term solutions remain elusive. Full Story
