🏊 Take the Plunge for a Great Cause

The 2025 Colorado Springs Polar Plunge & 5K is set for Sun, March 16, at Rock Ledge Ranch, offering participants the chance to take a freezing plunge, run a scenic 5K, or do both—all in support of Special Olympics Colorado. The event runs from 7:30 to 10 am, followed by an After Splash Bash at Red Leg Brewing.

Plungers must raise at least $80 ($50 for students), and early bird 5K registration is $35 through Feb 15. With fun team costumes, Vendor Row snacks, and a shared goal of raising $780,000 statewide, this event is a thrilling way to give back while embracing the chill.

🚒 Faster Fire Response for North COS

With northern Colorado Springs seeing a rise in emergency calls, the Colorado Springs Fire Department has deployed a new truck, Brush 24, to keep response times fast while Station 24 is being built.

This smaller truck, designed for wildland fires but also equipped to handle medical calls and accidents, will operate from two locations—Pikes Peak State College during the day and Station 22 in Northgate at night. Once Station 24 opens in March, firefighters hope to improve response times even further. Full Story
