Life has done it again…changed the trajectory of what we hope and what “is”. 😢 

Sweet Arwen left us yesterday, and while I wrestle with the feeling that I couldn't save her, I know in my heart that letting her go was my final act of love. She fought so bravely, but her tired body needed rest. I'll forever cherish our special bond, snuggles and our games of fetch. Wait for me, my precious girl, until we meet again over the Rainbow Bridge.

🏔️ Bighorn Sheep Day is Back!

Bighorn Sheep Day returns for its 20th year this Sat, Feb 15, at Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center! This free, family-friendly event celebrates Colorado’s majestic Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep with wildlife viewing stations, live animals, nature walks, crafts, giveaways, and educational booths. Thousands of visitors attend each year to learn about these incredible animals and their role in the ecosystem.

If you plan to go, be aware that some trails and roads may be affected due to an ongoing waterline project, so follow detour signs. Don’t miss this chance to see these cliff-climbing wonders up close!

🚑 How CSFD is Saving Lives—And You Can Too

Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) is teaming up with Vitalant to host quarterly blood drives in 2025, starting on Feb 26 at Fire Station 19. After seeing the impact of their first drive last year—where 168 lives were saved—CSFD is calling on the community to step up and donate blood to support emergency care in the Pikes Peak Region.

CSFD was the first in the state to carry whole blood in their rigs, providing life-saving transfusions before patients reach the hospital, significantly improving survival rates.

The upcoming blood drives will take place on Feb 26, May 7, Aug 11, and Nov 4, all from 11am to 3:30 pm at Fire Station 19, 2490 Research Pkwy. Appointments are required—sign up today to help save lives!
