🔪 Boosting Kitchen Confidence in D2

Courtesy Fox 21
Harrison School District 2 (D2) staff got a boost in the kitchen thanks to a hands-on cooking class aimed at making meal prep easier and healthier. Through a partnership with Cigna, Care and Share, and Pikes Peak United Way, participants learned practical skills like knife techniques, cooking proteins, and incorporating whole grains and fresh ingredients.
The goal? To empower staff to make nutritious, budget-friendly meals for themselves and their families—because when educators feel good, they bring their best to the classroom. Do you agree? Full Story

Natalie Lovell
Colorado Springs City Council has voted to appoint Natalie Lovell as the next City Auditor, with final approval expected on March 11. She will succeed Jacqueline Rowland, who is retiring after serving since 2021. With nearly a decade at Colorado Springs Utilities, Natalie is well-prepared to oversee the city’s financial integrity. The Office of the City Auditor plays a vital role in ensuring transparency, accountability, and efficiency in city operations. Residents can visit the City Auditor’s page to learn more or report concerns about fraud or misuse of city funds.

🌱 Resilience: Your Secret Superpower!
Resilience is the key to navigating life’s challenges, helping us recover from setbacks and embrace change. It isn’t about avoiding struggles—it’s about developing the strength to face them head-on. It’s not something we either have or don’t—it’s a skill that can be strengthened through self-care, emotional awareness, and positive relationships.
Learning to adapt instead of resisting change can make all the difference in how we move forward. Need a little boost? A guided meditation might help clear out negative thoughts and recharge your mindset by Kathy Smith a renowned fitness guru at 73, she is STILL going strong.
Fun Fact: I’ve personally been working out with Kathy Smith since the 1990s! Don’t laugh (ok, you can 🤣), here’s a pic of my workout area, complete with my old VHS tapes—yes, I still have them (and a working player!). One of Kathy’s tapes date back to 1990, and they’re still part of my routine. How about you? Do you have any old workout tapes??? smir
