📊 Market Turmoil: What It Means for You

The stock market took a major hit as investors reacted to new tariffs on China, with additional levies on Canada and Mexico coming soon. While price increases may be gradual, they could add up over time, impacting both consumers and businesses.
The uncertainty surrounding these trade policies is making it difficult for companies to plan for the future, and economic experts are warning that a recession is becoming more likely. One UCCS economic expert mentions it’s too soon to say how severe the impact will be, the market is responding to the growing uncertainty. Full Story

👩🦯 TRIVIA: Bambi Venetucci, The Blind Teacher Who Saw It All

Did you know that one of Colorado Springs’ most beloved traditions was nurtured by a woman who overcame incredible challenges to inspire our community?
Bambina “Bambi” Marcantonio Venetucci, born in 1929 to Italian immigrant parents, was a trailblazer in education and philanthropy, leaving a lasting legacy in our city.
Despite being born with severe visual impairments, Bambi attended the Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind at age seven and later became one of the first blind students at the University of Colorado Boulder. She earned her degree in Special Education and returned to teach at CSDB in 1954, empowering her students with life skills. Her dedication earned her the title of Colorado Teacher of the Year in 1983.
Bambi met Nick Venetucci in 1957. After retiring in 1984, she married Nick after a 27-year friendship, and together they turned his family farm into a cherished community landmark. Each fall, they welcomed thousands of schoolchildren to Venetucci Farm to pick free pumpkins—a tradition that touched countless lives. She donated her and her husband's farm to the Pikes Peak Community Foundation after his death in 2004.

What skill did Bambi use to "see" Nick's statue at the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum after his passing?
Today, the farm has been transformed into an urban flower farm and event venue by Gather Mountain Blooms, continuing the legacy of community and connection that Bambi and Nick Venetucci fostered.
Answer: Bambi used her hands to touch and feel the face and hands of Nick’s statue, remarking with emotion, “It’s him. Those hands are his hands. So strong.” This moment captured her deep connection to her husband and their shared legacy. *Source
