🚧 Lane Closures & Delays—Is Your Route Affected?
CDOT has begun a major resurfacing project on CO 115, stretching from Fort Carson’s Gate 1 to Brookside St. Construction will take place mostly at night, reducing traffic to one lane and lowering speed limits.
Northbound, Sun through Thurs, from 8pm to 7am.
Southbound, Sun through Thurs, from 7pm to 7am.
Shoulder closures, anytime
The project includes road resurfacing, guardrail replacements, pedestrian signal updates, and curb ramp improvements. These upgrades aim to make driving and walking through the area safer and more efficient, but delays are expected through September 2025. Drivers should plan for slower travel and shifting traffic patterns in the coming months.

🚙 Hidden Dangers at Trailheads

Recent reports of car break-ins at trailheads, including Stratton Open Space, are a reminder to take extra precautions when parking before a hike. Thieves target visible valuables, so store them before arriving, lock your car, and choose well-lit, high-traffic parking spots. Using a steering wheel lock, checking crime reports, and notifying someone of your plans can add extra layers of security.
While no method is foolproof, being proactive can significantly reduce the risk of theft and let you enjoy the trails with peace of mind.
🌧️ A Simple Way to Conserve Water

The Fountain Creek Watershed District is offering 50-gallon rain barrels for sale to encourage homeowners to adopt sustainable water practices. Collecting rainwater is a simple way to water gardens, reduce runoff, and lower overall water use.
Each barrel costs $97, with an optional $10 donation supporting watershed education programs. Orders are open until April 6, with pickup scheduled for April 18-19 at Creek Crossing. This is an easy, eco-friendly way to help conserve water while keeping your landscape lush!

🙌 Want a More Youthful Look? This is Helping!
Over time, the corners of our mouths can start to turn downward, creating marionette lines that make us look older. I’ve noticed that people seem more approachable and attractive when their expressions naturally lift upward—actors like Erin Krakow (from Hallmark’s When Calls The Heart) have this quality!
Wanting to improve my own reflection, I found a video with simple facial exercises and gave them a try. I’ve already seen an improvement, though consistency is key! If this is something that’s been on your mind too, I highly recommend checking it out.
