📰BREAKING NEWS: 💔 Mourning a Pope for the People

The late Pope Francis Jan 17, 2024 (Vatican Media)
It’s a solemn day for many across the world, as the Vatican has announced the passing of Pope Francis at age 88, on Easter Monday. Just one day after his surprise appearance to offer Easter blessings from the balcony of St. Peter’s Basilica, the leader of the Catholic Church peacefully passed away in Rome.
For the last 12 years, Pope Francis served as a voice for compassion, humility, and care for the most vulnerable. He was the first pope from Latin America, born Jorge Mario Bergoglio in Buenos Aires, and his path to the papacy was anything but conventional—beginning as a chemical technician, working as a janitor and even a nightclub bouncer before dedicating his life to the Jesuit order.
Health concerns had followed him for years due to lung complications in his youth, and more recently, a serious respiratory illness led to extended hospital stays. Still, his presence endured, and his message always centered around unity, mercy, and reaching the overlooked corners of humanity.
His passing leaves a spiritual void for many, but also a lasting legacy that transcends denomination and geography.

🚁 Candy from the Clouds? Yes, Really!

Easter took to the skies this year at Rampart Park, where a helicopter dropped 5,000 plastic eggs for excited kids and families waiting below. Organized by Berisford Realty Group, the private event was a carefully choreographed celebration, featuring local business giveaways and thoughtful safety measures.
Attendees brought buckets, teamwork, and lots of curiosity as they collected the taped-shut, candy-filled eggs. For those used to more traditional hunts, this sky-high twist was a spectacle—and it might just be even grander next year with talk of 20,000 eggs. Full Story
What are your thoughts? Was this a good idea or unnecessary extravagance for the Easter holiday?
🛰️ Is COS Still the Right Place for Space Ops?

Mayor Yemi has publicly urged that U.S. Space Command remain in Colorado Springs, citing the city’s long-standing role in national defense and its unmatched readiness.
With key military installations already operating here and billions already invested, he warns that relocating the command would risk mission delays, duplicate costs, and disrupt military families. For the mayor, the choice is about more than location—it’s about staying focused on national security and honoring those who serve.
