🚧 Marksheffel Closure Alert

Marksheffel Closure Alert

Heads up if you travel along Marksheffelfull closures are planned overnight tonight, April 24 and all weekend from Fri evening through early Mon morning. Crews will be installing utilities underground and updating lane markings, so you’ll see a new traffic pattern by Mon.

Local access to Reach Church and Mountain Valley Preserve will remain from the south, and all other traffic should detour via Peterson Road. Weather could shift the timeline, so sign up for text alerts if you need real-time updates.

What’s Closed at Garden of the Gods?

What’s Closed at Garden of the Gods

If you’re planning a visit to Garden of the Gods today or tomorrow (Thurs and Fri), expect some detours due to the final stretch of the waterline installation project. The Juniper Way Loop entrance will be closed both days, so vehicles should use alternate access points like Ridge Road or Beckers Lane.

Popular spots like Balanced Rock and the Trading Post are still open, and walk-in access is available via Rock Ledge Ranch. The park itself remains open, and the Visitor Center will be operating as usual.

Carvana

Carvana is expanding its presence in El Paso County by adding a large reconditioning and auction site to its existing ADESA location in Fountain. The new “Megasite” will create around 100 jobs and support faster delivery and more vehicle choices for customers in the Colorado Springs area.

The 50-acre site will continue to host wholesale auctions while boosting Carvana’s ability to inspect, clean, and prepare cars for sale. Full Story
