🚧 Woodmen Median Work Starts Now

This week, the City of Colorado Springs is making changes to the center median on Woodmen between Campus Drive and I-25 to help reduce westbound congestion. The project includes reworking the concrete median, adjusting traffic lights and signs, and updating lane markings.
One of the two eastbound turn lanes onto Campus Drive will be removed to allow for longer westbound left-turn lanes. While one lane in each direction will close during construction, two lanes will remain open each way, and access to I-25 will not be affected. The work should wrap up by late June and comes ahead of the summer’s 2C repaving project.
🛑 What Crews Just Found Under I-25

It’s a busy week around Woodmen—and not just for traffic projects. Just north of the Woodmen exit on I-25, local agencies carried out a restoration effort this week to clear a long-standing homeless encampment under the bridge where Pine Creek flows. After providing notice and offering services to occupants, the area was cleared with only one person present at the time.
The site, which has been repeatedly reoccupied, was found to contain abandoned tents, a wooden structure, debris, and signs of illegal power tapping. The joint cleanup, involving the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, CSPD, and CDOT, is part of ongoing efforts to keep the area safer and more livable for nearby residents.

🏞️ 4 Locals, 4 Favorite Views of the Peak

This was a great piece I came across giving secrets of the beauty in our area and had to share. Maybe something to go explore this weekend?
Locals chimed in on where they believe the best view of Pikes Peak is—from beloved parks and scenic reservoirs to backyards and windows with stories. While Garden of the Gods won the popular vote, many said the view became special not just for what they saw, but who they were with. Whether it’s a quiet moment by the reservoir or a lifelong memory made in a childhood park, the best view may simply be the one that stirs your heart. Full Story
