🤠 TRIVIA: What Brought Old Colorado City Back to Life?
Did you know Territory Days started as a bold experiment to breathe new life into Old Colorado City? Back in the mid-1970s, the area was struggling—many storefronts were empty, and the historic charm was fading. A small group of business owners and community leaders decided to take a chance on a street festival, hoping it would draw visitors and remind locals of the area’s wild, gold rush origins.

Which historical reenactment is a crowd favorite at Territory Days, bringing the drama of the Old West to life in Old Colorado City?
The very first event was a modest craft fair, featuring a handful of vendors, a parade, and a few costumed pioneers.

Today, Territory Days has grown into a Memorial Day weekend tradition, drawing crowds with dramatic reenactments, live blacksmithing, and gold panning. Indigenous dancers and cultural demonstrations now play a key role, honoring the original peoples of the region and adding depth to the festival’s celebration of Colorado’s history.
Answer: Wild West gunfight reenactments
