🚧 Chelton Road Lane Shifts

Beginning today, the City of Colorado Springs will upgrade the crosswalk and pedestrian signal in front of Twain Elementary School on N Chelton Rd, near Marion Dr. The improvements include shortening the crossing with bump outs and rebuilding the signal to better protect students and families.
While there won’t be full road closures it will last for two weeks (weather permitting), prior to school starting. Construction will start on the west side of N Chelton this week before switching to the east side. Drivers can expect temporary lane shifts and bike lane closures during the short project.

🧓 Smart Move for Seniors & Owners

El Paso County has introduced a new monthly prepayment program for property taxes, allowing residential and commercial property owners to better manage their budgets. Offered through the secure platform EscrowTaxes, participants can schedule equal monthly payments via e-check ($1 fee), credit/debit card (2.5% fee), or digital wallet. This option is ideal for seniors on fixed incomes, homeowners who want predictable payments, or businesses looking to smooth out expenses.
To qualify, the property must be owned free and clear, and the account must be in good standing. Enrollment is open now via the County Treasurer’s website.
🐻 Ivywild, Manitou… Now Mountain Shadows

Another bear sighting took place this week in the Mountain Shadows area, continuing a trend of increased bear activity across El Paso County this summer. Earlier this month, a bear had to be rescued from a storm drain in Ivywild, and others have been seen on the Manitou Incline and even near Red Rocks.
With bear encounters becoming more common, Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials are reminding locals to take precautions—secure trash, avoid bird feeders, and keep outdoor areas clean—to prevent curious bears from coming closer to homes. If you do see a bear, give it room to escape, stay calm, and never run. As fall approaches and food becomes more scarce, bear activity near homes is likely to increase. Full Story

🦴 Bones, Balance & Vibration
I’ve been considering a vibration plate for my own health routine, especially to support lymphatic drainage and bone health. I almost snagged a Prime Day deal, but after learning that vibration frequency can make or break its benefits, I paused.
This video from Dr. Caitlin, a certified functional medicine practitioner, dives into how vibration plates work, who can benefit, and who should avoid them. If you’re exploring ways to boost circulation, balance, or detoxification, this video is worth a watch.

Myth #2: AI is too expensive
❌ Reality: False! While some advanced AI solutions can be pricey, there are plenty of free and affordable AI tools available. Many platforms offer free tiers or low-cost subscriptions, making AI accessible to individuals and small businesses.*
✅ Pro Tip: Start with free tools and gradually explore paid options as your needs evolve.
