🚧 4 New Detours to Avoid Driving This Week

Starting today,
Drivers on Tejon downtown will notice a short shift in southbound traffic as crews replace utilities through Fri, Aug 8 as part of the revitalization effort.
Over at Galley and Hathaway, a five-day detour will route cars through Ford St while Cherokee Metropolitan District completes infrastructure work.
And on Foxtail Meadow Rd (off of Woodmen), a longer closure begins for full-depth roadwork—drivers should plan on using alternate routes for the next couple of weeks until access is restored.
On S Academy, overnight lane closures and lane shifts will begin between I-25 and Milton Proby Pkwy, as crews widen the road and adjust ramps. Expect delays and keep an eye out for detour signs.

🚓 Arrested After a Bedtime Burglary

Courtesy: FOX21 News Photojournalist Cora Mitchell
You can’t make this stuff up—police were called to a burglary on Zebulon Dr, near S Academy and Fountain, and found the 20-year-old suspect asleep in the victim’s bed. Not exactly a stealth operation. The incident happened around 2am Sunday morning. After being woken up and arrested, the man allegedly broke a police car window and assaulted an officer. Safe to say his nap was officially over. He’s now facing burglary and other charges. Full Story
🐑 Counting Sheep at 14K Ft

Early one morning last week on Pikes Peak, 50 volunteers and wildlife experts took part in an annual sheep count to check in on the health of Colorado’s iconic bighorn herd. While the population has declined over the years—from 205 sheep in 1949 to just 82 in 2024—biologists are hopeful that a new crop of lambs could signal a comeback.
The count helps determine future hunting licenses and gives insight into the effects of disease and harsh mountain living. For longtime participants, the experience is more than just data—it’s a beloved tradition and a peaceful, rewarding way to connect with nature and one another. Full Story

🤔 "Should I Create an AI Account?" Your Privacy Questions Answered
👋 I wanted to share a question from an attendee at our recent AImagination Experience workshop:
"My question was regarding risks of creating an account with AI platforms. I've been using ChatGPT regularly but have no login because I don't know who has access to the information I input. A lot of personal data is being uploaded and it feels more private to have no login. What are your thoughts on what's happening behind the scenes for AI?"
This is a great question! Privacy concerns are definitely top of mind for many of us. Here are 5 of my observations…
Privacy #1: 🔹 GUEST VS. ACCOUNT
Using ChatGPT without logging in might feel more private, but the platform still collects usage data either way. Having an account can actually give you MORE control through privacy settings and data management options.
Stay tuned for tomorrow’s AI Privacy Concerns or get the full list in our new, FREE AI For Everyone Community.
